The Murder of George Floyd
It all begin with the death of our brother George Floyd who was murdered May 25th 2020 in Minneapolis Minnesota by a known racist white police officer. Sixteen days later peaceful protest still remain strong all throughout the country and the world fighting for equal justice for Black people in America and abroad.
Philly protest the grand jury decision on the three Louisville officers that initiated a no knock warrant on March 13th late night for Brionna Taylor’s boyfriend. Police broke down the door to Brionna’s apartment, resulting in shooting her to death. Police knew Brionna Taylor’s boyfriend would be legally armed but decided it was a good idea to serve the warrant in this manner and at that hour. Brionna’s Boyfriend thought it to be a burglar and fired a shot injuring an officer. Police returned fire shooting Brionna 6 times.
Police had been aware that the the boyfriend in question would be at Brionna’s apartment and this also meant POLICE knew Brionna was a constructive member to society and BRIONNA’S LIFE should have MATTERED.. The Louisville police chose to put Brionna’s life at risk when they decided on the no knock warrant knowing her boyfriend would be legally armed.
No officers were charged nor convicted of Brionna Taylor’s death. They claim that the police were just in their actions, self defense. #wrong #choices #accountability
